La Colombe d’Or: After an incredibly busy summer preparing a move abroad, I’ve been daydreaming about a loooong vacation at La Colombe d’Or in Saint-Paul de Vence. This historic hotel and restaurant was a meeting spot for many artists, thinkers, and writers who moved to the Côte d'Azur during the ‘40s, ‘50s, and ‘60s, including Picasso, Miró, Calder, Braque, and Chagall. I can’t think of a better way to recharge than staying at a place like La Colombe d’Or, where you can enjoy a dip in the pool, dine on the terrace with a view of the Provençal landscape, and be surrounded by all that art. 🎨
Pretty swimwear: While I honestly shouldn’t add any more swimwear to my wardrobe, I was lured in by the Lé Weekend sale and found some goodies. The four (seven?) pieces below were among my favorites, but they will have to live in my bookmark folder for now:
A mini Bode sale: There’s just something about Bode... 💭 Right now, Garmentory has a few standout pieces on sale: the Rosefinch Shirt, Blanket Stitch Quilt Trousers, and Alumni Stripe Pajama Pant. None of the items are in stock in my size, so I’m sharing them with you!
We got an apartment in Paris (!!!): After sending out over 100 applications and approaching five different agencies, we finally secured an apartment in Paris. I knew the market was competitive, but I never expected the search to be as difficult as it was. Anyways, we were approved for a studio at a top rate last week. It definitely isn’t our dream apartment, but it is a place we can call home for now. Plus, it’s located in Le Marais, which sweetens the deal a bit. I’ll show you the apartment soon! In the meantime, here are a few screenshots of other apartments we were considering. I'm obsessed with the combination of warm neutrals, honeystained woods, and bright reds which is something we came across often in our apartment hunt.
A really good homeware store on Instagram: Speaking of apartments, my jaw hit the floor when I stumbled upon Le Centerpiece on Instagram recently. This is everything I’m drawn to in home furnishing and -decor. Their vintage furniture inventory includes renowned names such as Tobia Scarpa, Alvar Aalto, Knoll, Giacomo Castiglioni, Cassina, and Thonet. They also have a few really great vintage surrealist art prints.
Marin Montagut: This is apparently no kept secret, but I hadn’t heard about Marin Montagut until now. To recap, it’s a Paris-based boutique selling unique, hand-painted, bohemianesque trinkets. I don’t normally love these type of trinkets (if I’m being completely honest), but I really like their tarot inspired designs. Plus, I’m always on the lookout for a good souvenir. 👀
My definitive list of travel essentials on Window Seat: If you’re an overpacker or as scatterbrained as I am when it comes to packing,
’s latest newsletter is gold. 🥇 In it, she shares her favorite travel products, guides you through organizing your suitcase, and highlights which items are worth the investments and which ones to skip out on.Everything I wore in Italy on Amuse Bouche: Now that we’re on the topic of packing,
recently send out a newsletter containing her strategy for traveling with just a carry-on for a four-week trip. I’m extremely impressed by her method and will be using it next time I fly out!!
Navigating a New Life in Paris: The Joys on Slow Sailing: I recently discovered
’s newsletter, a fellow Paris-Based Expat, and have been enjoying reading about her experiences moving to Paris. It’s weirdly comforting to read about others navigating the same challenges as you. So, if you know of any other expats in Paris writing their own newsletters, please send them my way!You can have fun at the airport: As it turns out, there are actually a lot of things you can do at the airport.1 At JFK, an old terminal has been turned into a 1960s inspired hotel that pays tribute to its architect, Eero Saarinen. The TWA Hotel houses bars, restaurants, and a heated outdoor pool all of which are available for day-use bookings so that’s where Gerry and I went before my most recent flight to Denmark.

Other international airports have emotional support dogs you can pet while you wait for your flight. But, the best activities I have come across so far are the free city tours or stopovers for travelers with long layovers. This is an option at airports like Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, Istanbul, Reykjavík, Lisbon, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei, and Tokyo among others!
Ok WOW so much good stuff in here! Loving this new series + can't wait for more.
1. The TWA Hotel is such a fun place to see and I HIGHLY recommend anyone visiting New York makes the trek for a day pass to the pool and afternoon cocktails or books a long layover through the city just to see it! Such an architectural marvel and a stunning reminder of the golden age of air travel.
2. Your apartment!!!!! In Le MARAIS???!! My jealousy knows no bounds. Huge congrats!!
3. Thank you so much for the mention! ♥︎ I'm so glad you liked my last issue, it's one I've been wanting to write for a long time!
This was fantastic
