Tomorrow, I’ll be on a plane heading to Paris, where I’ll meet Gerry in our new home. This will be my third time moving abroad (if we count my semester as an exchange student). Every time I’ve moved abroad, I’ve made a list of things I want to buy in that specific location. My hope is that one day I’ll have a home and a wardrobe full of little trinkets that tell the story of my life—where I’ve been, what I’ve been inspired by, and what my day-to-day life once looked like.
So, for today’s issue: A list of things I’m shopping for in Paris.

French skincare products
The French are renowned for their skincare expertise, and their pharmacies have all the skincare girlies in a chokehold. (Myself included.) The past few months, I have been holding back on any skincare related, because I want to stock up on products when I’m in Paris. I currently have the following on my shopping list:
Vintage Levi’s 501 jeans
It might be a little cliché, but my favorite pair of jeans is Levi’s’ 501s. I’m 5’6”, so I’m not exactly short, but I have always, always wished I was taller. The fit of the 501s kind of gives me the illusion that I am, which is why I love them so much. I’ve been recommended a few vintage stores in Paris that specialize in vintage Levi’s jeans, so those are some of the first stops I’ll be making.
Customized Officine Universelle Buly comb
Officine Universelle Buly is a historic Parisian apothecary with beautifully crafted grooming products. You have probably seen their viral customized lip balms on TikTok or Vogue. I would love to get one of those lip balms, but I’m much more intrigued by their body products and customized combs. Apart from being a functional product, I think any of their combs would make a great decor piece for my bathroom.
Vintage Chanel bag
Okay, so this would be the most expensive (and, frankly, most unrealistic) purchase on my list, but I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll come across a vintage Chanel bag that I like and that is somewhat affordable. I have linked some I found on eBay ranging from $320.00 to $968.
Bistrôt flatware
I love French bistrôt flatware. At the Sabre store in Paris you can get customized flatware which I’m very excited about. I think we would mix and match a few different pieces (I really like the pastel blue, fern green, and their new Bistrot Pearly line) and maybe get a few vintage Laguiole knives in addition.
Vintage Moroccan rug
Finally, I’ll be on the hunt for a vintage Moroccan rug. Paris is home to a large North African community so I hope I’ll be able to score a nice Bejaâd or Azilal rug. I prefer to buy these directly from the source, but since I don’t have any plans to visit Morocco in the near future, this is the next best option.
